International ecommerce air cargo demand has surged beyond 4 million tonnes in 2024

In 2024, China exported 4.4 million tonnes of low-value e-commerce through air, but in 2022, this number was roughly half. To put it in perspective, last year, roughly 12 thousand tonnes of low-value ecommerce exited China via air, or roughly 116 full B777-200 freighters. With a 38% per annum growth registered in the last 3 years, the demand for low-value ecommerce shows no sign of stopping.
