Tangible opportunities across commercial, network and processes for an airline

Background and context

We were asked to support the development of an airline’s business in one of its markets. Although they saw a healthy steady growth in recent years, they felt that there was still improvement potential left untapped. The areas of improvement identified concerned their network (e.g. increased frequencies and destinations), commercial (sales and customer strategies), and operational (process automation, OTP).

Aevean’s Role

To help the client, first we conducted a thorough discovery, identification and sizing of opportunities to develop and potentially pursue. Hand in hand, through multiple workshops with the client, and expert interviews, we identified and highlighted best-in-class commercial processes and data analytics capabilities.

Outcome & Value Add

Ten priorities were identified and ranked in terms of impact and ease of implementation. For each, their projected upside in the next 12-18 months, if implemented, was calculated. Furthermore, already during the project the client began implementing some of the initiatives with the help of the team. To make sure the momentum was not lost after the project, we provided them with a timeline for each of the initiatives, along with a detailed task assignment for each of the team members.
